From the bath to the kitchen, Alberto-Culver has it covered. It makes products for hair care (Alberto VO5, Nexxus, TRESemmé), skin care (St. Ives Swiss Formula), and personal care (FDS); sweeteners and seasonings (Mrs. Dash, Baker's Joy); and laundry-care items (Static Guard). A plan to sell the business to Regis Corporation fell through in early 2006. In late 2006, however, Alberto-Culver parted ways with its Sally Beauty unit, the world's #1 beauty supply retailer and distributor to professionals and consumers. The move included a split with its Beauty Systems Group. It sold its Cederroth business, which serves Nordic countries, to CapMan in July 2008 and acquired Noxzema from Procter & Gamble (P&G).
