DIRECTIONS

Founded in 1911, ASSE is the oldest and largest professional safety organization. It's 33,000 members manage, supervise and consult on safety, health, and environmental issues in industry, insurance, government and education. ASSE is guided by a 16-member Board of Directors, which consists of 8 regional vice presidents; three council vice presidents; Society president, president-elect, senior vice president, vice president of finance and executive director. ASSE has 12 practice specialties, 148 chapters, 56 sections and 64 student sections. The Society offers a certificate in safety management through seminars and certification preparation workshops with the Professional Safety Academy (PSA). Under the PSA, safety professionals determine goals that steer their career path, construct an educational plan to assist in achieving those goals, receive the necessary education from foremost leaders in safety, and receive recognition for those achievements. No other single, regular source keeps members as well informed on safety and health news, legislative and regulatory developments, employment opportunities, safety products and continuing education notices. Publications, conferences, continuing education, and local, regional and national programs keep members in the forefront of technical knowledge.
