Providing alloys for its allies, metals service company A. M. Castle distributes highly engineered metals and metal alloys to a broad range of industrial manufacturers. The company sells steel (alloy, carbon, and stainless), aluminum, copper, brass, and titanium in bar, sheet, plate, and tube form. A. M. Castle operates throughout North America as well as in France and the UK. The company also engages in industrial plastics distribution through subsidiary Total Plastics. It acquired Transtar Metals in mid-2006. Investor Patrick Herbert controls about a quarter of A. M. Castle.
